Frostbite Circus presents this year’s brand new production of Heartache Hotel. Heartache Hotel is a theatrical circus show like Winnipeg has never seen before. Andrea Del Campo, Joe Ackerman and Stephen Halas take us through an eerie old hotel where each room is haunted by incredible acts, puppetry, pole art, contortion, hand balance, aerial, juggling, unicycle, live music, dance, etc. Don’t miss out. Some mature content not recommended for small children.

“Fleeting” Music Video premiering tonight at the WAG

In honour of my “Fleeting” video premiering tonight at the Núna – now Arts Festival, I have put up the single as a free download on my band camp page. I will leave the download up until the end of the festival (next weekend). I wrote the song for my mother, who passed away two years ago, and who was an artist.

The video is showing at the Winnipeg Art Gallery tonight alongside new works by Erika MacPherson and Jaimz Asmundson.
Suffering loss of our mothers, we all, unbeknownst to one another, were drawn to the land of fire and ice to translate our grief into art.
*This event is free to the public*

April News

Yes! Núna – now has announced this year’s programming! On April 17th, Ryan Klatt and I will be premiering my Slattern music video “Fleeting”, made in memory of my mom, and shot in Iceland last summer. It will show alongside new work by Erika MacPherson and Jaimz Asmundson at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. See the festival program here.

Then on April 24th, I will be performing as Slattern at the Good Will Social Club alongside Ghost Twin and dj. flugvél go geimskip (from Iceland).

Becoming Beluga

This past July I travelled to Churchill, Manitoba to participate as a guest artist in Becoming Beluga. I sang opera to belugas through an under-water speaker system!  This is a collaborative social sculpture/residency/documentary film project by Ryan Klatt and Laura Magnusson.
